She received professional training in cellular and molecular pharmacology at Wuhan University and Rutgers University in the United States. After joining the School of Medicine， Xiamen University, she carried out basic research in ophthalmology at Eye Institute of Xiamen University. In recent years, her research interests mainly include: (1) the molecular pathology and mechanism of retinal degeneration, and (2) the molecular mechanism of mammalian retinal regeneration and related small molecule drug cocktail screening.
