Hi, I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Statistics and Data Science at the School of Economics of Xiamen University, China.
I received my bachelor’s and master’s degree in mathematics and statistics from Columbia University in the City of New York, and my Ph.D. in Statistics and Data Science from the National University of Singapore (NUS) under the supervision of Dr. Dongming Huang.
My research advances statistical theory and methodology for high-dimensional inference by exploiting low-dimensional structure, sufficient statistics, and synthetic data to render complex problems more tractable, enhance the stability of estimators, and ensure valid uncertainty quantification.
Current interests:
Sufficient dimension reduction and clustering;
Conditional inference and variable selection via exchangeable sampling;
Graph neural network on graphs with heterophily or low homophily;
Reward hacking of large language models;
Alpha exploration for quantitative finance by genetic algorithm and reinforcement learning.
Announcement: I am actively looking for student researchers, as well as research assistants and research interns. If you are interested, please feel free to reach out via email.
