Yuchao Cai joined Xiamen University in 2026 and is currently an Assistant Professor jointly appointed by the Department of Statistics and Data Science, School of Economics, and the Paula and Gregory Chow Institute for Studies in Economics. He received his B.S. in Statistics from Xiamen University in 2018 and his Ph.D. in Statistics from Renmin University of China in 2023. From 2024 to 2026, he was a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Statistics and Data Science at the National University of Singapore. His research focuses on the theory and methodology of statistical machine learning, including tree-based methods and ensemble learning, nearest-neighbor methods, and unsupervised learning. His work has been published in the Journal of Machine Learning Research, NeurIPS, and ICML.
