Charity Education of the Chinese Nation:Connotation,Principles,and Methods

Abstract:With the promulgation of the Charity Law and the proposal of the CPC and the state to payattention to playing the role of the third distribution and promoting the development of public welfare charity,strengthening charity education of the Chinese nation should become a new content of ethnic work and ethniceducation. Charity is an important cause to promote the balanced development of all ethnic groups and theexchanges and integration among all ethnic groups. It is of great significance to strengthening the sense ofcommunity of the Chinese nation. The Charity education of the Chinese nation refers to the education on thehistory,culture,practice and knowledge of charity of the Chinese nation and all ethnic groups from theperspective of forging the community consciousness of the Chinese nation. The principles of charity educationfor the Chinese nation include the principle of gradation,combination of knowledge and action,localization,mutuality and authenticity. The main methods of Chinese national charity education mainly include classroomteaching,media publicity,theme activities,organization visits,service learning and project learning. Thecharity education of the Chinese nation is conducive to bringing more charitable resources to the ethnic areas,and promoting the common prosperity and balanced development of all ethnic groups; it is conducive topromoting mutual understanding and mutual respect among different ethnic groups,and enhancing ethnicrelations of solidarity and mutual assistance; it is conducive to recall the memory of the gathered efforts andstruggle of all ethnic groups,and promoting the Chinese national identity and Chinese cultural identity of allethnic groups.
